“By Faith Noah…” November 22

noah-arkThe story of Noah in the Bible (Genesis 6-9), unlike the movie released in early 2014, has many valuable lessons for us. Here are a few –

1.     Don’t miss the boat. Do what is most important first.

2.     Remember that we are all in the same boat. We all need a way to weather the storms of life.

3.     Plan ahead! It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.

4.     Stay fit. When you’re old, someone may ask you to do something really big.

5.     Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that God has asked you to do.

6.     Build your future on high ground.

7.     For safety’s sake, travel in pairs.

8.     Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.

9.     When you’re stressed, float a while.

10.   Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.

11.   No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

But perhaps one of the greatest lessons is the fact that Noah put all he had into following God’s will and saw all of his family members get on the ark. “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” Hebrews 11:7.
